Frequently asked questions.
WHO ARE PHYSICAL THERAPISTS AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
Physical therapists (PTs) earn a doctorate in physical therapy and study with MDs, PAs, and Occupational Therapists (OTs) throughout their graduate program and are movement specialists. Physical therapists work with you to address any functional limitations and improve your quality of life. Your PT will discuss your specific goals and create a plan of care based on your needs and wants.
How can physical therapy help?
A physical therapist is a licensed medical professional that is trained to diagnose physical abnormalities, improve and restore physical function (strength and mobility), and promote physical activity. Dani will assist you to meet your goals from prevention to recovery.
how is healing movement different from other clinics?
With our care you will receive the convenience of quality physical therapy at your home or business. We have the privilege of creating a plan of care that addresses your goals, not what an insurance company dictates. You will not be surrounded by multiple other patients performing repetitive exercises and modalities that do not address the root cause of pain or dysfunction. You will work 1:1 with your physical therapist and will never be “handed-off” to a tech or aide.
What should i expect during my visit?
Dani will begin with a initial examination that will include a thorough health history, goals, and a physical assessment. Based on findings a plan of care will be recommended and short and long-term goals established.
DOES Healing movement physical therapy accept my insurance?
We are not contracted with any insurance companies and do not bill insurance. If requested, a Superbill (receipt) will be provided that you may submit to your insurance provider as an out-of-network visit for reimbursement.
what is cash-based physical therapy?
Healing Movement is a cash-based physical therapy clinic meaning you do not need a physician referral and health insurance is not accepted. We do not contract with any insurance companies and “pay for service” will be required following treatment. If requested, a Superbill may be provided for you to submit to your insurance for reimburse for out-0f-network services.
Working outside the construct of traditional insurance allows for personalized treatment not dictated by your insurance company. Cash-based physical therapy allows for complete autonomy to treat the client as a whole, not just a body part. You will work 1:1 with your physical therapist allowing for individualized treatment sessions.
HOW DO I SUBMIT A SUPERBILL FOR REIMBURSEMENT?
Prior to you initial consult, contact your insurance company to discuss out-of-network benefits. Contact information for your insurance company is located on the back of your insurance card (member services) and request to speak directly with a customer service representative. Questions to address may include:
What are my physical therapy benefits? What percentage can be used for coverage?
Is there a deductible that must be met? If yes, how much?
How much of the deductible has currently been met?
Do I need authorization prior to beginning physical therapy?
Is there a specific form, other than a Superbill, that must be completed for reimbursement?
